Class Guidelines
WHEN WILL CLASSES BE HELD?
All classes are held after school on campus unless you are attending a community class. Please refer to your specific location and class on the OPMI After-School page for details.
HOW DOES MY CHILD GET HOME FROM LESSONS?
When filling out the registration form, you will choose from one of the following options:
1) Walker / Biker
2) Parent Pick-up
3) After School Program
The parent pick-up location will depend on the location of the class.
WHAT IF I AM LATE PICKING UP MY CHILD FROM CLASS?
If your child is registered for parent pick-up, they must be picked up ON TIME. If you are more than 10 minutes late picking up your child, a fee of $ 5.00 for each additional minute late will be added to your next month's statement.
If your child has a sibling in a later class, they may choose to wait in the Fine Arts hallway and work on homework or read, but disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Siblings or friends of OPMI After-School students will not be permitted to hang out in any class that they themselves are not registered for. If your child is to wait in the hallway for their sibling's class to finish, please advise the instructor and facility staff in writing.
HOW DO I WITHDRAW MY CHILD FROM A CLASS?
To withdraw your child from an OPMI After-School class, notice may be given by emailing OPMI at opmi@opmi-lessons.com, or by filling out the
Request To Withdraw Form located on the OPMI After-School home page.
Participation is imperative in order to ensure the success of the program. Supplies, materials, performances, etc. are provided based on the enrollments in each class. To withdraw your child from an OPMI After-School class, 30 days' notice must be given in writing or payment for the next month will be required. Refunds and / or tuition adjustments will not be issued due to lack of attendance or missed classes, regardless of the reason.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY CHILD PRACTICE?
Practice times will vary for each student. We encourage students to practice at least 15 minutes every day. This will ensure that your child will be prepared for the next class and emphasizes that their rate of progress is their own responsibility.
DO CLASSES LAST THE ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR?
During the academic year, OPMI After-School classes will run through the last week in May. An end-of-year performance will be communicated through newsletters and the class calendar.
DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE LESSONS?
YES WE DO! OPMI highly encourages private lessons. Every private lesson is tailored towards the individual student and their specific learning needs. One of our highly-trained, talented instructors will come right to your home. Private lessons are also a fantastic idea during the summer so your child can keep their skills sharp and continue to build off of what they learned in their after-school class.
